Resolving File Referrals

The Referrals view of the Person Details dialog lists the Files that that person has referred to the firm.

The Check Referrals utility (available from the Actions menu in the People module) can be run to populate the Referrals view with applicable Files. The utility attempts to match the "Matter Came To Us Because" "Referred by" text in each File with the name of an Amicus Contact or Firm Member, and reports any missing or duplicate matches for further attention.

Tips:

If upgrading from Small Firm or an earlier version of Amicus Attorney, run the utility to process your prior referral data.

The utility can also be run periodically, to resolve any Referral Names added recently by manual entry.

In File Details, selecting a Contact or Firm Member in the File's "Referred by" field (rather than typing in a name) will ensure that the File is automatically listed in the appropriate Referrals view.
