Adding Intelligence > Having Amicus Attorney DO a task for you
If you have been using Amicus to manage your practice, you already know that you can create To Do's to remind yourself about tasks you have to perform. You also know that Amicus automatically adds To Do Reminders about checking the status of certain Files and keeping in touch with specific People.
With the Intelligent Assistance (IA) feature, Amicus goes beyond merely giving you a Reminder. With one mouse click, you can actually have Amicus start a Phone Call or open the relevant File. You can also set up Intelligent Assistance to perform other timesaving tasks like creating a document or running a program.
On certain Events, Intelligent Assistance will be automatically set up for you. For example:
A "Contact" To Do can appear automatically on your list, reminding you to keep in touch with a Contact. This To Do will be automatically set up to assist you in placing a phone call to that Person (if they have a phone number stored in their Person record).
A "Review status of File" To Do can appear automatically on your list, warning you (the Responsible Lawyer) about a File that has not had any Time Entries posted on it recently, or has had too much time posted on it. This To Do will be automatically set to open the File for your review.
You can tell when Intelligent Assistance is available for an Event—a special DO button appears beside the Event in Event lists.
You can click this DO button to have Amicus perform whichever task has been set up within that Event.
To find out what activity has been set up for an Event, double-click the Event and look at the Assistance Setup view of the Event Details dialog.
