3rd Party Links & Other Solutions > Common Functions > Using Spell Check
To help save you time and ensure accuracy, a spell checking function is provided for text fields, including Notes, File Summaries, Time Entry Activity Descriptions, and so on. For details on the Spell Check preferences, see My Application Preferences - Spelling, AutoCorrection, and AutoText preferences.
If you have the Check as I type and offer suggestions preference set, Spell Check will automatically check the spelling of words and mark all misspelled words with a red wavy underline. To correct an underlined word, right-click on it and choose one of the following:
A suggested correction—Replace the word with one from the list of suggestions, based on similar words from your dictionarie
Add To Custom Dictionary—Accept your spelling of the word and add it to your Custom Dictionary
Add To Ignore List—Accept your spelling of the word throughout this field in this record (as long as the current details window remains open).

Tip: If you have accidentally added any misspelled words to your Custom Dictionary, you can delete them from the list in order that any occurrences will be caught as errors rather than accepted. See Directly editing your Custom Dictionary. |
If you have an autocorrect preference set (to capitalize the first letter of sentences, correct the accidental use of the CAPS LOCK key, or correct two initial capitals in a word), then a problem word will be automatically replaced as soon as you finish typing it.
If necessary, you can undo this automatic correction by immediately pressing <CTRL+Z> or by choosing Edit > Undo.

Note: If you have the preference set to automatically add words to the exceptions list, and you undo the autocorrection of an all-uppercase word or a word starting with two uppercase letters, then that word will no longer be autocorrected. Removing a word from your exceptions list will place that word back under autocorrection control. |
If you have Auto-Text items specified in your preferences (e.g. wrt = with respect to), then those abbreviated words will be automatically replaced as soon as you finish typing text that matches one of your Auto-Text items.
If necessary, you can undo this automatic correction by immediately pressing <CTRL+Z> or by choosing Undo on the Edit menu.
