People > Your People
Professionals often share information about the contacts in their practices. For example, a client may have many Files to which different Firm Members have been assigned, and several Firm Members might use the same expert witness on independent cases.
The list of Contacts to whom you have been assigned is shown in the People Index. Every Contact has at least one Firm Member assigned to them. For example:
Depending on how your People preferences are set, when you add a new Contact, you are automatically assigned to that Person record.
If a Contact is added to a File to which you are assigned, you are automatically assigned to that Contact.
In addition to the Contacts list, a "Firm Directory" list of all Firm Members is available in the People Index.
Only your Amicus Administrator may add Firm Member records. For information on opening your own Firm Member record and changing your Password, see Setting your Password and other personal information.
For security reasons, only a subset of information is shown in Firm Member records. For more information on what Firm Member details are provided in the People module, see Viewing Firm Member details.
