 People lists customization

You can customize the following lists for People.

People Groups

Contact and Firm Groups classify People into related sets. Example Groups include Clients, Lawyers, Suppliers, and Personal. Only Contacts may belong to Contact Groups, and only Firm Members may belong to Firm Groups. For ease of management, you should try to limit the number of groups.

To customize People Groups, go to the Office > Firm Settings, and click People Groups under the People heading to display the People - People Groups dialog.

When adding or editing a Group, you can select the Firm Group checkbox to indicate that it is a Firm Group rather than a Contact Group. Firm Group names are marked by an asterisk in the list for easy identification. For example, * Associates.

Prefix list

A Prefix appears before a Person's name. It is used as a title to help identify the Person. Examples include Mr., Mrs., and Dr.

To customize a Prefix, go to the Firm Settings view and click Prefix under the People heading to display the People - Prefix dialog.

Suffix list

A Suffix appears after a Person's name. It is used for formal identification. Examples include Sr., Jr., III, and Esq.

To customize a Suffix, go to the Firm Settings view and click Suffix under the People heading to display the People - Suffix dialog.

Communication Labels

Communication Labels are used to identify the different types of Phone numbers, Fax numbers, E-mail addresses, and Web addresses for a Person. Examples include Home, Business, Business 2, Cell, and Other.

To customize Communication Labels for a particular type of Communication, go to the Firm Settings view, click Communications under the People heading to display the People - Communications dialog, and then select a Type from the dropdown menu at the top.

Address Labels

Address Labels are used to identify different types of addresses for a Person such as Business, Home, and Other.

To customize Address Labels, go to the Firm Settings view and click People - Address.

Relationships

Relationships are used to identify how People are connected to other People. Examples include Spouse, Parent, Child, and Employee. A Firm Member can specify how one Person is related to another and, optionally, the reciprocal relationship as well.

To customize Relationships, go to the Firm Settings view and click People - Relationships. When adding items, be sure to include matching reciprocals as well, when appropriate.

Firm Member Types

Firm Member Types indicate the general role that Firm Members play in the firm. These roles are shown in some People lists, such as the People Select dialog, to provide easy identification within large teams. Examples include Managing Partner, Partner, Associate, and Assistant.

To customize Firm Member Types, go to the Firm Settings view and click People - Firm Member Types.

Availability Status

In the Firm Member Availability utility, users can optionally set their Availability Status rather than have Amicus calculate their availability based on their Calendar. This can be helpful, for example, when a Firm Member does not wish to be disturbed.

To customize Availability Statuses, go to the Firm Settings view and click People - Firm Member Availability. Add or delete statuses as desired.

Workload Categories

In the Firm Member Availability utility, users can optionally set their Workload Category, to indicate their current overall workload level. For example, "Green" indicates that the user has a light workload and is available for new assignments.

To customize Workload Categories, go to the Firm Settings view and click People - Firm Member Workload. Add or delete statuses as desired.
