Welcome to Amicus Attorney!

Amicus helps you manage your files, organize your calendar, keep notes, contact people, be on top of your incoming and outgoing communications, do research, record the time you spend on your activities, and more.

By using Amicus, you can focus on the substantive and innovative aspects of your practice while Amicus does the background tasks for you. Whether you are an independent legal professional, or a member of a small, mid-size, or large firm, Amicus will work for you. It is designed for firms of any size or area of practice.

Amicus Attorney provides all the core functionality legal practitioners need, including files, time entries, contacts, communications, notes, document management, calendaring, tasks, document assembly, a library, and the powerful DO button. It supports unlimited custom fields and custom records, multiple levels of access and security control, managed documents, auto-backups, and a bi-directional link with Microsoft Outlook/Exchange Contacts and Calendar information. In addition, it integrates with popular legal accounting programs, and provides links with a variety of other products. Microsoft SQL Server is used to host the Amicus Attorney Firm Database. Amicus Attorney is well suited to the needs of small to large firms.

New users of Amicus should read the Getting Started Guide for an introduction and brief tour of the product's exciting features.

Read the User Help for details on how to use the many features of Amicus Attorney. Most of this information will be valuable to you in the customization and everyday use of Amicus Attorney.

Online Help is available as you work with Amicus—from the Help menu, by pressing <F1> on your keyboard, or from the Help Center in your Amicus Office.

Definitions

Firm Member may be an "Active" or "Former" member of the firm. Active Firm Members can be assigned to records, but Former Firm Members cannot. Active Firm Members are eligible to be licensed to use Amicus Attorney and be further designated as a Timekeeper, a Librarian, and/or an Administrator. Each designation provides additional rights and privileges.

Amicus Administrator is a Firm Member who has access to firm setup and administrator functions and utilities.

The following typographical conventions are used in the documentation:

Text that you should enter exactly as printed is shown in Courier font, e.g. 3/28/2022.

Keys that you press are shown in uppercase within angle brackets, e.g. <DELETE>.
