   Working with the Main Note on a Person


The Main Note on a Person is the note field used for synchronization with third-party links, such as the Outlook Contacts & Calendar Link. The Main Note is useful in Reports and Document Assembly Templates. The Main Note is not included in the Notes lists.

To see the Main Note on a Person, open the Person Details window and choose Main Note on the navigation list in the control panel.

Edit the text as desired.

Tips: To set your Notes - General preference automatically insert a date/time stamp. In a blank Main Note, click to the far right in the box so that the cursor will be well positioned, at the end of the added date/time stamp. If adding new text to an existing Main Note, the date/time stamp will be automatically added when you press <Enter> at the end of the Note text.

To search Main Notes when you do a QuickFind People search from the People Index. It is therefore a good idea to include a wide variety of information that you may want to use for cross-referencing purposes in the future. Main Notes can be included when you check for possible conflicts of interest—for more information, see Searching for possible conflicts of interest.
