 Utilities


In addition to the functions used for day-to-day work, Amicus provides several utilities that Amicus Administrators will find helpful. For effectiveness, most of these utilities require that they be performed:

By an Amicus Administrator with Firm Files and/or Firm Contacts rights (to ensure that as many records as possible are accessible for processing)

When all other Firm Members are logged out (to ensure that no records are locked from processing)

Change Assignment Assign or remove one or more Firm Members on several Files, Contacts, or To Do's. Run whenever desired.

Transfer Records Assign a Former Firm Member's Files and other records to the Firm Member taking over their work. Office module > User Management > Actions menu Transferring Firm Member data

Change Phone Label

Ensures consistent use of either "Mobile" or "Cell" as a Phone Label throughout all Contact and Firm Member records in the firm.

WARNING: May affect three-way synchronization with mobile devices. Can be run occasionally.

Find Duplicate Contacts Search for duplicate Contacts and, if desired, merge them. Run occasionally.

Check Referrals Populate the Contact Referrals after upgrading from Small Firm or Amicus Attorney earlier than Version 2012. Can be run occasionally to pick up Referrals entered manually. People module > Actions menu Resolving File Referrals

Consistency Checker

Check for client matter inconsistencies (e.g. Billable Files that lack a Primary Client).

Required before licensing Amicus Billing for the first time. Can be run from time to time by any firm. Doesn't manipulate data.

Mass Time Entry Change

Change Billing Rate and/or Billing Behavior in several unbilled Time Entries. Run whenever desired.

Automatic Backups Backup your Amicus Database on a regular schedule—we recommend daily.
