Several sample HotDocs Advance templates can be found in the Merge Template or Generate Document window.
Using these templates customizes documents such as contracts, sales agreements, government forms, and loan documentation can be quickly and efficiently generated and uploaded.
There are various places in Amicus from which you can generate documents:
The Files Index or a File Detail window.
The People Index or a Person Detail window.
A Search Results list that includes only Files or People.
A DO button on an Event.
To generate a document, select a file and click Generate Document to display the Generate a Document window.
Select a template under the HotDocs Advance Templates tab and click OK.
A HotDocs Advance Interview is launched asking you for the information the template requires.
Important: If all the variables for the template can be found from within Amicus, the HotDocs Interview is skipped. |
If the HotDocs Interview is skipped the assembled document is downloaded to a Temporary folder and opened so you can view it and save it to a folder.
HotDocs Advance generates a HotDocs Interview from the variables and dialogs defined in the selected template.
Sometimes descriptive text displays in the interview, such as titles for dialogs and prompts for individual questions.
Dialogs are set up in HotDocs Author for related fields. The Outline pane on the left displays a list of all the dialogs or variables in the template.
Select a dialog or variable from the Outline pane to display it in the main Interview pane. Comments display in the Additional Information column on the right.
Enter answers to the Interview questions in the text boxes and click Next to move to the next dialog or variable.
A half green circle displays to the left of a dialog when the Interview questions are completed, and a checkmark icon displays to the left of a variable.
To edit a variable or dialog that is complete click on the corresponding icon or to open it, click into a textbox to select the text and hit the Backspace key to clear it or enter new text to overwrite the data. You can also select Actions > Clear all answers, then enter new data in the textbox.
The Navigation bar at the bottom of the Interview window is used to navigate through the interview.
Click Finish when completed. If there are unanswered questions the following prompt displays.
Click OK if you want to submit your answers or Cancel to return to the HotDocs Interview.
When you submit your answers the following prompt displays.
Click the link to download an assembled document with the HotDocs fields in the template replaced with the interview answers and select a location to host the document in the Save File window.
