Time

Time

Different users use different terms to describe records of billable time. Some call them "time slips"; others call them "dockets." In Amicus Attorney, each individual record of billable time spent is referred to as a Time Entry, and the Time Entries for a particular day are compiled in a Time Sheet.

You record your time with Amicus Attorney in much the same way as you do now. As you complete a task, you can fill out a Time Entry on the computer screen much as you do on paper. The day's Time Entries are set out on a familiar-looking Time Sheet. You can review the Time Sheet at the end of the day before sending it to your accounting department.

In addition to creating and posting Time Entries, you can search for and review past Time Entries, and see a breakdown of your billable and non-billable hours for a particular month. You can also compile statistics that show your billable hours so far this year, and your average billable hours per week and per month. You can even predict the average number of billable hours per day required to fulfill your goal for the year.

Setting your preferences

You can use preference settings to customize the Time module (and the creation of Time Entries) to your personal requirements. For more information on setting these preferences, see Time preferences.
