You can grant specific Firm Members access to your Office as a Guest Assistant or as a Guest Colleague. For example, you could assign a Guest Colleague to cover your work while you are on vacation.

Guest Assistants and Guest Colleagues have limited rights while in someone else's Office. By default, a Guest Assistant has more rights than a Guest Colleague. Their permissions are determined by the "Guest Assistant" and "Guest Colleague" Security Profiles, which may be customized by your Amicus Administrator. The default data rules and Profile settings are summarized below.

Access Control |
Access to Amicus functions is restricted by the Guest's own Administrator and Librarian Designations, the Owner's Timekeeper Designation, and the "Guest Assistant" Security Profile. Access to records is controlled by the Guest's own Record Restrictions. May see and edit only the Restricted records that both the Guest and the Firm Member have Restriction viewing and editing rights to. May access a Firm Member's Office even if that Firm Member's Access Class is "Former Firm Member". |
Same as Guest Assistant, except that the "Guest Colleague" Security Profile is applied. |

Cannot access Preferences (The Guest's own My Application, Document Management, and Document Assembly preferences are applied, but all other preferences are those of the Office Owner) Can run Reports. |

If the Owner is a Timekeeper, they are by default assigned as the Timekeeper in new Time Entries. The Owner's Time Entries are shown in Search results. |
Cannot access the Time module or the Office Owner's Time Entries. Cannot use the Time Entry Assistant function. If the Guest is a Timekeeper, can view their own Time Entries in the My Time view of Files and in the Timer on the Amicus Floating Toolbar, and can add Time Entries as the Guest. The Guest's Time Entries are shown in Search results. |
Calendar |
Can view Office Owner's Calendar, including the Owner's Diary. Can use Office Owner's Calendar Profiles and Workgroup filters. Can add and edit Calendar Profiles as the Owner. Can add and edit Events as the Guest. The Owner is assigned by default. Receives Guest's own Change Notification and Reminder Stickies. |

Communications |
Can access Office Owner's Communications in the Communications module and the My Communications view of Files and Contacts. Cannot access the Outlook view of the Communications module. E-mail integration is not available. Unsaved e-mails are not shown. Can send new e-mails as the Guest. Can add and edit new Phone Calls and Messages as the Guest. Can edit the Owner's Phone Calls and Messages. Receives Guest's own Communications Alerts. |

Office Owner's Documents are listed in the My Documents views of the Documents Index, File Details, and Contact Details. The Guest's own Document Management preferences are applied. In a User-Managed environment, can View and Open the Owner's Documents that are in an accessible Shared Documents location. In an Amicus-Managed environment, can View, Check In, and Cancel Check Out Documents as the Guest. |

Document Assembly |
Can generate documents and e-mails using Office Owner's Merge Templates. The Guest's own Document Assembly preferences are applied. Cannot add or edit Merge Templates. |
