Calendar

Professionals seem to have an endless list of things to do. The challenges of a modern practice include arranging, preparing for, and attending meetings, keeping track of what you have to do, remembering when things must be done, getting the most important things done first, planning what you have to do in the future, and maintaining your sanity when the list seems out of control.

What are Events?

To help you organize your time, Amicus Attorney keeps track of all your appointments and things to do in the Calendar module. Appointments, To Do's, and Red Letter Days are collectively referred to as Events. (Red Letter Days are days you mark as special, such as anniversaries.)

Often you have Events that repeat at regular intervals, such as rendering accounts every month, and attending weekly meetings. These are referred to as Repeating Events.

You can link To Do's and Appointments in a chain—for example, the steps that have to be taken in litigation after the deposition of a witness. These are referred to as Linked Events. You can save a series of steps as a Precedent. A saved Precedent contains all the Appointments and To Do's involved in a transaction. You can then apply the saved Precedent in another File.

Appointments and To Do's appear not only in the Calendar, but also in the Files to which they are related and the records of the People who are assigned to them.

Setting your preferences

You can use preference settings to customize the Calendar module to your personal requirements. For more information on setting these preferences, see Calendar preferences.
